Views of the gardens...

Logo Jardin Remarquable  The Prieuré Notre-Dame d'Orsan's gardens are among the Jardins Remarquables of the France since 2004.
The gardens are 15 years old ! In 1992, the first works for the restoration begin. Originally, Patrice Taravella and Sonia Lesot just need some shadow in the courtyard of the priory. And then, the idea to create a garden is borned. But which garden ? A medieval garden ? An historic picturing ? The questions were numerous. Finally, they decide that the gardens refer to medieval gardens, specially monastic garden. Indeed Orsan was great from 12th to 15th century.
The gardens opened to the public in 1995.

Gardening workshops

Every year, the prieuré d'Orsan organizes gardening workshops (in french) in november. Led by the master gardener Gilles Guillot, everybody can particpate to the gardening workshops, beginners, professionnals or garden's lovers.

We propose :

- The wood : garden's architectures, fencing and treillis.
- Create a garden : how to create a garden, which plants for which garden, ways, irrigation,...
- Roses : planting, treatment, cutting and fencing.

After a visit of the gardens and the beginning of the workshop, Patrice Taravelle propose you a lunch at 12 o'clock at La Table d'Orsan, with fruits and vegetables of the gardens. You can stay at La Maison d'Orsan for the night or a week-end in one of the six bedrooms of the hotel. You have a great and instructive day.

The gardening workshop happens from the 5th to 10th november. More informations about gardening workshops.
